Sidewalks Transformed into Barber Shops: Only in Vietnam

In Vietnam, a sidewalk is not only a pedestrian zone but a multi-purpose space, literally. Whether dining with family and friends, drinking coffee on low plastic stools, getting shoes shined, or a fancy new haircut — it all happens on the sidewalk. Locals love their sidewalks.

Barbers, in particular, love the sidewalk. They hang mirrors from walls, and set up chairs as lures to business. And they do more than hair. Some go the extra mile, offering ear cleaning, nose hair trimming and shaving services.

In the picture below, Doan Quang captured a moment in Hue as a young boy had his hair trimmed while his mother waited patiently beside him.
